It has been a while since I&#8217;ve updated everyone on my work\/myself\/my blog, this being the first blog post on this site since I took down the old wordpress website &#8211; exciting! I thought I&#8217;d share what progress I&#8217;ve been making behind the scenes here since I dont feel as though I have enough content to make a youtube devlog right now, but expect one soon as project killcode is being worked on daily now so lots of content will be seen soon!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This post will go over Project Killcode&#8217;s progress so far and at the end I&#8217;ll explain where I&#8217;ve been &amp; what my next plans are for the rest of 2026 and my projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"240\" height=\"20\" src=\"https:\/\/frannq.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/69325-ACE-FA1-F-4513-90-E6-3-A0-D624-BAA6-F.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-63\" style=\"width:260px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">PROJECT KILLCODE UPDATES <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"240\" height=\"20\" src=\"https:\/\/frannq.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/69325-ACE-FA1-F-4513-90-E6-3-A0-D624-BAA6-F.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-63\" style=\"width:260px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Originally, the game was a killing game however there was no trial\/execution sequence similar to popular killing game franchises such as Danganronpa. I&#8217;ve decided that if im going to release Project Killcode to the public, I&#8217;d prefer for it to be something I&#8217;m 100% proud of rather than a quick game I made for my last year of high school, thus, I&#8217;ve decided the whole game needs an overhaul and as i mentioned, this includes making it more of a traditional killing game with trials, executions and a mastermind. This may delay the release of it and extend the development time of the project overall, making the development of Remembrance also slower however, as I mentioned, I would much prefer to release something that shows my full potential as a game developer and artist than a quick 30-60 minute game I made in high school. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first notable change is with the game&#8217;s name, I&#8217;ve felt as though &#8216;project killcode&#8217; is very exaggerated, cartoonish or almost childish. Some ideas I&#8217;ve come up with as replacements are;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Deadlock<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No Exit Protocol<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Or a mix of the two. Previously, when I had thought of revamping project killcode I had done this same route of wanting to add more characters, so I sketched out headshots of ten possible designs for them. One of the biggest ones being the walking pixel sprites of the characters, where I&#8217;ve completely re-done them and changed the style&#8211; also reducing the screen resolution to improve my pixel art and help bring in an old, low quality feeling to the aesthetic of the game which helps with this sort of 80&#8217;s feeling I want the game to have. Along with this, I am in the process of redrawing the ID card style portraits of the characters when I need a break from writing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Other than things I can show to you, I have also been working on conceptualizing ideas for possible trailers including an animated trailer and a gameplay trailer, the animated one referencing various pop culture along with scenes from the story&#8211; We are currently deciding on a song to use for the trailer. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">The OST is also being developed currently as I work on an execution theme for the animated movies of when the characters are executed after a trial. Other themes that are to be worked on are trial themes, investigation themes, free time and so on that were not included in the original game&#8217;s pacing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"240\" height=\"20\" src=\"https:\/\/frannq.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/69325-ACE-FA1-F-4513-90-E6-3-A0-D624-BAA6-F.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-63\" style=\"width:260px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\">Where I&#8217;ve been &amp; Other Updates<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"240\" height=\"20\" src=\"https:\/\/frannq.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/69325-ACE-FA1-F-4513-90-E6-3-A0-D624-BAA6-F.gif\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-63\" style=\"width:260px;height:auto\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>During April I went on an overseas trip which is why my social medias have been MIA, from now on however, I am back and will be solely focused on posting updates and wips of my games along with art as i used to post.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">As for remembrance, it is on an indefinite hiatus as a focus on getting project killcode completed since it is a shorter game out of the two. I will be trying to work on it every now and then but my priority is to complete killcode.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">For the rest of 2026 I plan to continue working on my projects and posting art as normal, I may sell merchandise or adoptables once again but currently that is undecided.
